Art Analysis

                                   Art Analysis

What I see is a wolf-based creature, plated with abdominal armor plates. As well as a helmet and neck guard. This artist also gave it shoulder plates and arm guards, plus a double-sided weapon. How ever the artist may be trying to convey the strength that wolves possess. The artist may be in a surrounding where video games, as well as animals, take over his curiosity, allowing him to combine the two. The emotion that is evoked is, for some, would be fear. People fear what they don’t understand, so a cannas lupus walking on two legs confuses people. This piece is made in this way because of the detail can be seen easily, allowing the artist to find what he needs and color and fix any mistakes. The significance of a piece truly can’t be known unless you speak with artist, however I believe that this artist believes that these animals are cool looking an loved the design. The ancient Greeks believed in the Greek gods. With that came the same representation of armor plated animals aiding or abating the Greek gods. The Greeks depicted animals as the main helpers of the Gods. Zeus and is noble Eagle, Hades and his three-headed hellhound, Cerberus, or Poseidon and his noble chariot pulled by Horses. The main difference is the position of the animal. The animals that we portray will be standing on all fours. As well as the weapons will be more technologically evolved. However the armor and beastish design are what we plan on going for with our animals.

Computer Assisted Art Semester One Independent Project

The vision that both Cory and I are attempting is a panoramic view of several animals, fitted with both weapons and armor. The animals in this project consist of a wolf, boar, bear, eagle, and a tiger. I am going to design the animals and model them in maya, while Cory is going to design the weapons and armor. He is also going to be adding the paint and fine touches to everything in mudbox. After everything is complete we will have a camera in maya rotate around the animals.
